ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD REVIEW
Those who have known me since I started on YouTube know that I am the enemy of dramatic films, I have always been less words and more action, however, this movie caught my attention and I decided to go see it to see how it was, but the truth was a great movie. Once Upon A Time In Hollywood is the new film by director Quentin Tarantino starring Leonardo Dicaprio, Brad Pitt and Harley Quinn. In this story A television actor and his double embark on an odyssey to make a name for themselves in the film industry at the time of the murders of Charles Manson in 1969, in Los Angeles. From the beginning the plot places us in the 60's and we can see all the characteristic elements of that time from the stage to the props and the costumes. The atmosphere is so well achieved that you really feel that it is a film of that time, also the music helps to give a perfect atmosphere, we have some famous songs of the 60’s and some that surely your parents or grandparents know. Speaking of performances, Dicaprio and Pitt are the perfect acting couple, one is an actor and the other his double action, both complement the story thus creating the perfect duo, on the other hand, the role of Margot Robbie was not very clear, I did not understand his role in the film is well since his story and that of the character of Dicaprio are two totally different. I must clarify that this movie is not drama, that is, it is not the classic cheesy-romantic drama, it is a black comedy with many jokes and criticisms of Hollywood at that time, so if you want to go see this film with your girlfriend or boyfriend waiting for a touching and tender story this movie is definitely not for you. What it does have is a touch of violence and blood characteristic of Tarantino's films. In conclusion, Once Upon A Time In Hollywood is not an easy film to understand, it lasts almost three hours, so it can be a bit boring at times. It is an interesting story full of social criticism and black humor, the truth is a film that I enjoy a lot and that in the end had a happy ending. My rating for this movie is: 8/10 From the soundtrack you listen to Roy Head with the song Treat Her Right. Thanks for watching. |
