![]() |
In the series 'The social contract revisited' we research the roots of the social contract as we know it today.
In this second session, Alexander Rosenthal talks about philosopher John Locke, the father of liberalism and one of the founding fathers of the social contract. Alexander Rosenthal is lecturer at the Center for Advanced Government of the Johns Hopkins University. The other lectures in this series will be held in Dutch. They cover two other founding fathers: Hobbes and Rousseau. Afterwards we will focus on the 20th century translation of Rawl and Nozick. Finally we move on to two contemporary thinkers: Atkinson and Piketty. More information: www.ucsia.org/home-en/themes/ethics-and-economy/events/the-social-contract-revisited/ |
