In 2000, Ministry of Education statistics show 60,000 Pakeha kids were sent to low-decile schools. This year that number has more than halved. Many Pakeha parents believe the ranking reflects the quality of education. One Maori school is disputing this claim and there are calls for a review of the decile ranking.
