In 2015, WJAR journalists were covering two of the biggest trials of the decade -- at the same time.

One was the federal trial of the surviving Boston Marathon bomber, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. Tsarnaev was convicted and sentenced to death.

In the other, former New England Patriots player Aaron Hernandez stood trial on state murder charges in Fall River.

After a three-month trial, came the verdict. Hernandez was found guilty of murder in the first degree.

Members of the jury spoke exclusively to NBC 10 News.

"We went through this crazy thing together, all of us. How many people can say they've been through something like this?" said one.

Hernandez was sentenced to life without parole, but he died in prison.

Tsarnaev remains in a federal prison in Colorado.
