This unique compilation video spans two decades of Participatory Video for Community Development, showing short clips of Participatory Media examples shot and devised by Communities Around the World.

This video contains clips from films produced by communities across Africa, Asia, Latin America, the South Pacific and Europe. It was created to give you a feel for what our work is like, and a sense of the huge range of themes and issues that Communities Around the World have explored over the years through Participatory Video.

In the same way, Participatory Video trainings led by InsightShare have given an opportunity for vulnerable and marginalised groups in over 60 countries to speak up about local problems. A wide variety of problems faced by Communities Around the World are women rights, land grab, food security, forced displacement, access to education, water and sanitation (WASH), torture and abuse, as well as climate change-related events such as floodings, water pollution, sea-level rise, loss of crops and disruption of livelihoods. Additionally, Participatory Video trainings provide Local Communities Around the World with digital skills for the future, serving as a tool for self-advocacy in the long term.
