Physio+10 Associate Professor Patricia Trott AM |
|
Physio+10 focuses on the journeys of trailblazing Physiotherapists and today's conversation is with Pat Trott.
When it comes to individuals that have guided and shaped our profession, Pat is one of those key people, however, you may be surprised to hear what her first choices were for a profession. Pat was intimately involved in developing the first musculoskeletal post graduate program in Australia and starting the Physio Research Foundation, with the intention to secure funds for physiotherapy focused research. Pat was in the first cohort to complete the Australian College of Physiotherapy's specialisation program (with Brian Edwards and Geoff Maitland), she was the second physiotherapist to become president of the APA and she steered UniSA as head of the Physiotherapy school for 7 years. Entwined with this exploration of her remarkable career, we get to meet most of the key figures in the musculoskeletal world at the time; J. Cyriax, G.Grieve, J. Mennell, F. Kaltenborn and we discuss aspects of her long association with Geoff Maitland. Apologies for my coughing & in the background you will meet the whale song of a cocker spaniel. |
