Elon Musk's Future Plans||SpaceX Starship test flight explosion on 9th Dec 2020

SpaceX is a rocket company founded by Elon Musk, has been developing a launch site in Boca Chica Village, south Texas since 2014. Now it's using the private spaceport to develop Starship, a rocket designed to send people to Mars.
A completed Starship would have a giant spaceship sitting atop a powerful, reusable booster. If all goes according to plan, the launch system lower the cost of accessing space by a factor of 10, and enable humanity to walk upon Mars in the near future and build a sustainable city there in the 2050s. Boca Chica is one of the southernmost point in the US, which is helpful for launching rockets. Closer to Earth's equator, the planet's rotation can add valuable speed, which helps save fuel.

Huge tanks are positioned in the SpaceX site for storing liquid methane. That's the fuel Starship's Raptor engines use. SpaceX hopes to one day manufacture methane from existing resources on Mars.

The site also has enormous liquid-oxygen tanks for burning the methane and nitrogen to keep the liquids chilled prior to launch.
SpaceX's Starship and Super Heavy launch vehicle is a fully, rapidly reusable transportation system designed to carry both crew and cargo to Earth orbit, the Moon, Mars, and anywhere else in the solar system.
The SpaceX rocket, Starship SN8 which is expected to reach Humans to Mars in the future, exploded a terrible blast between the test flight landing on 9th Dec,2020. Elon Musk claims success in the test.
"We have achieved all the data that we needed”. “Successful ascent, switchover to header tanks & precise flap control to landing point!” Musk tweeted. It is true.
Starship serial number 8 (SN8) lifted off from our Cameron County launch pad and successfully ascended, transitioned propellant, and performed its landing flip maneuver with precise flap control to reach its landing point. Low pressure in the fuel header tank during the landing led to the failure of one engine and the other engine could not control the landing velocity. High touchdown velocity resulting in a hard landing & explosion. This issue can be solved before the launch of next Starship prototype SN:9.
The Starship SN8 test vehicle slowly climbed off the launch pad, trailing a flickering flame of super-heated exhaust, and soared high into the atmosphere, to an altitude of 40,000 feet. One of the Raptor engines shut down a little more than a minute-and 40 sec into the flight, followed by cutoff of a second engine more than three minutes & 13 sec.after liftoff. The remaining engine switched off at about T+plus 4 minutes, 40 seconds, and the Starship’s thrusters and control flaps put the rocket in a horizontal “belly flop” orientation for the descent back to the ground.
Seconds before reaching the ground, two of the Starship’s Raptor engines reignited and vectored their thrust as the rocket’s control surfaces flexed to quickly flip the rocket into a vertical position for landing.
The stainless-steel rocket’s guidance system appeared to steer the Starship over its landing pad, just east of where the vehicle took off to begin the test flight. One of the engines appeared to shut down moments later, with a flash of green in the rocket’s exhaust plume.
The Starship — wider than the fuselage of a Boeing 747 jumbo jet — settled onto the landing pad at high speed, and the rocket erupted in a giant fireball.
Once operational, the Starship could carry more than 150 metric tons, of cargo to low Earth orbit, more than any rocket in the world. With life support systems and in-space refueling, Starship missions could eventually transport people to the moon, Mars, and other distant destinations.
The Mars missions will require SpaceX to master in-orbit refueling between two Starships. Musk said earlier this year he thinks SpaceX has a shot of accomplishing that in 2022.
Elon Musk’s idea is to make the space crafts reusable so that the cost of space missions can be drastically reduced.
