California Wildfires: Magalia Dixie Fire update | July 15th, 2021 |
|
"Steep and inaccessible terrain" has made it difficult for fire crews to establish containment lines for a wildfire burning near the site of the 2018 Camp Fire. The Dixie Fire started on Tuesday, July 13, growing the past two days since inception, currently sitting at 2,250 acres burned and zero containment, in Butte and Plumas Counties.
Jacob Gilliam, with Cal Fire, told ABC10 there were reports of the Dixie Fire was burning in Sugarloaf Mountain and has since grown. The cause of the fire has not yet been released.
