Inside The Graduate Center: A Dissertation Showcase |
|
In this annual showcase event—now in its second year—selected doctoral candidates present the impact and importance of their Ph.D. dissertations in just three minutes each. Sample the intellectual life of The Graduate Center, as our diverse and talented students share their work—in language for a general audience—across the humanities, social sciences, and sciences. Topics include: how immigrants are targeted by the criminal justice system, the role of grief in responding to the opioid crisis, racial and ethnic impersonations by comedians in vaudeville, the love story as a narrative form, how nanotechnology can create powerful new anti-cancer drugs, and many others from a wide range of disciplines.
Presented on May 13, 2019. For a list of participating students and their dissertations, visit: http://bit.ly/InsideTheGC For more information about our events, visit: http://www.gc.cuny.edu/publicprograms |
