Paul Laurence Dunbar: This Man Shall Be Remembered |
|
The Paul Laurence Dunbar Centennial Conference, sponsored by Stanford's American Studies Program, explores new critical perspectives on the diversity of Dunbar's literary production as a poet, novelist, lyricist, dramatist, and journalist.
Joanne Braxton, "Dunbar, the Originator;" Joanne Gabbin, "Intimate Intercessions: The Poetry of Dunbar;" Elizabeth McHenry, "Beyond the Presence of Dunbar;" Greg Robinson and Lillian Robinson, "Dunbar, A Credit to His Race," explore the legacies of America's first professional African American writer. Stanford's American Studies Program is an interdisciplinary major that seeks to convey a broad understanding of American culture and society in all their complexity.
