My feminist journey | Catherine V. HARRY | TEDxRUPP

Growing up, Catherine believed in the sexist narratives that were force-fed to her by the patriarchal society of Cambodia. She internalized the stereotypes and misogyny, thinking that it was normal. But at the age of 17, she discovered feminism. It was the lens of which she used to see the world, her country, and saw how broken it was, how men were benefiting from the system. Anger ignited her passion to empower women, leading her to start her blog, A Dose of Cath. She began making vlogs to broaden the audience and make sure that the message reaches people far and wide. In her Ted Talk, Catherine will discuss her journey from being a submissive Cambodian girl to becoming the voice of feminism in a country as conservative as Cambodia. My feminist journey This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
