1950-2022 - NBA All-Time Rebounds Leaders - (Top 15 + extra stats, records) |
|
Hi everyone, welcome to Hoops Data!
If you like to play and watch basketball, you probably also like to follow the stats of your favorite players through the years. Rebounds were first officially recorded in the NBA during the 1950-51 season. Offensive and defensive rebounds were not recorded separately until the 1973-74 season. In this video, I did a bar chart race about the NBA All-Time Rebounds Leaders. The statistics are the career total rebounds in the regular season. It starts in 1950-51 and goes until the regular season 2021-22 (30/1/22). It's a great way to see the evolution of the rebounds leaders through different eras. Here is the list of the current Top 15 as you can see, they are all great NBA players. 1 Wilt Chamberlain: 23,924 2 Bill Russell: 21,620 3 Kareem Abdul-Jabbar: 17,440 4 Elvin Hayes: 16,279 5 Moses Malone: 16,212 6 Tim Duncan: 15,091 7 Karl Malone: 14,968 8 Robert Parish: 14,715 9 Kevin Garnett: 14,662 10 Dwight Howard: 14,479 (27/1/22) Active 11 Nate Thurmond: 14,464 12 Walt Bellamy : 14,241 13 Wes Unseld: 13,769 14 Hakeem Olajuwon: 13,748 15 Shaquille O'Neal: 13,099 One player from the top 15 is still playing, Dwight Howard, so he can still move up in the ranking, but Wilt Chamberlain and Bill Russell are probably still safe at the first and second place for a very long time.
