Am I good enough yet? | Steven Esau | TEDxChilliwack |
|
Steven Esau asks us to challenge the concept that medication is the answer to what ails our spirit.
He presents the idea that modern counselling practices need to critically consider the possibility that it is no longer acceptable to be inadequate for the majority of patients, and that excuses and blame are no longer acceptable. Steven Esau is a counsellor specializing in trauma and addictions, as well as a manager with Pacific Community Resources where he responds to the three major difficulties of Homelessness, Addictions, and Mental Health. His current Doctoral research question if our therapeutic interventions are missing the mark by relying more on quick solutions like medication instead of exploring the healing power of relationship. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx |
