From insight to change | Maria Gjerpe | TEDxTrondheim

video thumbnail
From insight to change is her motto:
nobody can do everything, but everybody can do something.

Medical doctor, strategist, speaker, columnist, consultant and blogger. After having been very ill, her role as a patient made Maria realise the implications of a lack of understanding by doctors and a lack of treatment options for patients. As such, it is now her passion to make sure doctors have the knowledge they need to support and treat patients with less understood or ill-researched diseases.

Maria is a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Oslo who has studied innovation at the Norwegian Business School and is currently the Chief Medical Officer for The Norwegian Directorate for Patients eHealth. She is also the blogger behind “Marias Metode” (Maria’s Method) - a blog about community and health politics, innovation and research, communication and social media and technology and health - which was nominated for Girl Geek 2014 and won Digital Superheltinne (Superheroes Within) in 2010.

This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx
