It should be no surprise that the Tesla Model Y dominated Europe, given it was already the best-selling vehicle in Germany and the second-best-selling vehicle in the United Kingdom in September. However, this is an outstanding result for what is ostensibly a premium vehicle, given its starting price, which is significantly higher than the norm for the market.


How much does it cost for the Model Y 2023 model year? Is there a price cut on this vehicle in the works?

The base price of the 2019 Tesla Model Y was $39,000, with the top end at $60,000. Its price of $39,000 is about $10,000 less than that of the Tesla Model 3 2022.

While it is not unusual for Tesla's prices to fluctuate dramatically yearly, the company is known for doing so. Before on-road fees, purchase fees, and delivery expenses, the pricing range for the Tesla Model Y 2023 is $72,300 for the base Model Y Rear-Wheel Drive trim to $96,700 for the top-of-the-line Model Y Performance trim.

There is a luxury car tax of almost $4,000 for the Performance.
Starting costs for the Mustang Mach-E, a competitor to the Model Y will climb to around $47,000 to $70,000 for the 2023 model year from around $44,000 to $62,000 for the 2022 model year, an increase roughly comparable to the $7,500 tax credit introduced under the Inflation Bill.

All listed prices are exclusive of applicable taxes, as well as shipping and handling fees. The Mustang Mach-E is roughly $20,000 less expensive than the Tesla Model Y, but the Model Y is still the best option.
