video thumbnail
Our sickest patients are frequently harmed inside our health care systems. Health care systems are complex and overburdened for both patients and doctors – mistakes can happen. Claire Snyman tells her personal story and looks at how you can become more proactive in your health care, collaborate with your health care teams and put your health in your own hands – it might save a life, yours or someone you love. An important message to share. Claire Snyman – claire@twosteps.ca - is an author, blogger, speaker and advocate for patient and healthcare collaboration. After her diagnosis with a brain tumor and brain surgery, she realized the importance of being her body’s own advocate. She is now passionate about inspiring people to put their health in their own hands and collaborate with their health care teams. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
