Kostas Mallios is at the forefront of technology's latest journey, creating new paths for software and services across the digital landscape. Mr. Mallios is a Vice President at Intellectual Ventures working on defining and building new IP based businesses. Mr. Mallios spent 15 years at Microsoft in various executive roles. Most recently, as the General Manager of CSA Strategy and Business Development, he worked with emerging technologies and business models to "graduate" new technologies in the market. Mr. Mallios directed strategy, business development and M&A as a direct report to Microsoft's Chief Software Architect (CSA). Previously, Mr. Mallios led the Rich Media Group and Labs as General Manager, which built transformative media experiences across the Microsoft ecosystem.
As Director of Venture Integration, Mr. Mallios drove acquisition integration for 23 deals totaling over $3.7B and co-authored the MS M&A playbook. He was a business leader in the formation of the Business Solutions Division by serving on the core strategy and execution team for the Great Plains acquisition and leading the global integration of Navision. Prior to his M&A work, Mr. Mallios was the Director in the Enterprise Program Management group and developed joint product and business opportunities that help to build Microsoft's Enterprise market entry by partnering with strategic partners, including SAP. Kostas' career at Microsoft began as a Product Manager with the Developer Division in 1996. Before Microsoft, Mr. Mallios held various senior positions in publishing, consulting and services industries. Most memorably, he spent 6 years professionally photographing and interviewing top musicians. Kostas graduated from Siena College with a BS in Marketing Management and received his MBA in Management and Technology from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
