In this livestream podcast, Raphael Turrigiano and I will scrutinize the claims by Carme Jiménez Huertas in her book "Romance Did Not Begin in Rome," where she asserts that *none* of the Romance languages are derived from Latin, and that they all evolved from some other source.

These claims are easily falsifiable. Neveretheless, in the interest of fairness, Raphael and I will carefully examine her book in detail, applying lingustic rigor and philological acumen to the arguments of the author.
