Introduction to Agile for Instructional Designers
Organizational functions have begun to eye Agile methods as an attractive option for project management, decision making and prioritization. While eLearning teams can benefit greatly from adopting Agile, this workshop addresses specific adaptations to Agile methods proven to be effective for instructional designers and developers. This presentation is brought to you by the M.S. in Learning Design and Technology program at the University of San Diego. More about Megan Torrance: -CEO and founder of TorranceLearning -Over 25 years of experience in learning design, deployment and consulting -Author of Agile for Instructional Designers, Data & Analytics for Instructional Designers and Making Sense of xAPI -Facilitator with eCornell's Women's Executive Leadership certificate and other courses in virtual teaming, team leadership and communication About LLAMA™: Recognizing that software development and instructional design have different needs and outcomes, Megan Torrance developed the LLAMA™ methodology. Her approach adapts the common phases of ADDIE to incorporate the incremental, iterative nature of Agile projects. It allows learners to test and evaluate which features or design functions work before they’re finalized. It also offers a way to accommodate inevitable mid-project modifications pushed by stakeholders, subject matter experts, or organizational leaders. |
