Essex Business School Lecture: The Organisation and Business of Christmas

video thumbnail
Discover the relationships between Christmas, work and organisation in an eye-opening lecture lead by Essex Business School’s Professor Philip Hancock, who specialises in the study of work and organisation.

Titled “The Organisation and Business of Christmas”, Professor Hancock presented his fascinating research at the Economic and Social Research Council's (ESRC) Festival of Social Science, which was held at the University of Essex in November 2014.

Considering both the historical development of Christmas and its contemporary condition, Professor Hancock casts a critical eye over the organisational and commercial importance of Christmas, opening up this often ignored aspect of the season of goodwill.
