Philippa founded BandBazi an award winning, multicultural and inclusive performing arts company and charity in 2001. Philippa trained as an actress at the Scottish Royal Conservatoire. After working in regional repertory theatre including the Royal Court Theatre, London, she went on to train as an aerial artiste at The Circus Space, London. As Artistic Director of BandBazi she aims to integrate narrative theatre with aerial metaphors in what the company calls 'Aerial Drama'.

BandBazi' has an inclusive, multicultural Youth Circus Theatre attached to its professional company (7-25 yr olds) with whom she has directed five devised Circus Theatre productions. This is an inclusive group of young people from mainstream, disabled and refugee backgrounds who meets for 2 hours each Saturday, developing their skills in devising, creative writing, aerial circus (including bungees) and poi spinning. She is committed to developing the creative talents of the group as artists and arts leaders through the Arts Awards programme. The group also write songs, make films and create photographic exhibitions.

Philippa has produced all of BandBazi's productions and is currently co-producing Mind Walking for BandBazi with Q Theatre Productions, Mumbai. BandBazi commissioned award winning British Asian writer, Tanika Gupta to write the script which toured to SE, London, Glasgow and India in the Autumn of 2011. The intention is for the piece to do a national tour in early Spring 2013. Philippa was part of the professional aerial cast for the Olympic Opening Ceremony ('Mary Poppins') and the Paralympic Closing Ceremony ('Firefly') at London 2012.
