DTSC’s Safer Consumer Products Program is using new approaches to regulate perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) in certain consumer products. One of our environmental scientists explains that while these man-made chemicals will be around for a while, the actions that we take today can significantly alter their current trajectory – and protect human health and maybe lives of our distance visitors, too.
