After a strong Rugby World Cup 2023 Pool stage and topping Pool D, England met one of the tournament's surprise packages, Fiji, in Marseille for the third Rugby World Cup 2023 quarter-final.

Despite coming in as Pool C runners-up, Fiji had the physcological edge knowing they had beaten England for the first time ever in the World Cup warm-up games less than two months earlier!

England started the better, with tries from Manu Tuilagi and Joe Marchant, but Fiji were able to peg them back and level the scores at 24-24 with ten minutes to go, until Owen Farrell stepped up with a drop-goal and penalty to give England breathing space as they closed the game out.
