The result is that your heart can pump blood more efficiently through your arteries. This means less force on your arteries which results in lower blood pressure. By doing a few simple exercises in some cases you can lower your blood pressure almost as effectively as taking a hypertension medication. Always talk to your doctor about your exercise limits and agree on the exercise plan which will fit best your overall hypertension treatment plan. The first exercise is brisk walking. There are several scientific studies which have proven that walking is an effective natural tool to lower blood pressure. Brisk walking is an exercise with lower risk of injury so most people can engage in this exercise. One of the recent studies showed that for every 1,000 steps a participant took per day, their systolic blood pressure was approximately 0.45 points lower. The second exercise is the so-called nitric oxide dump. Nitric oxide is a substance which is produced naturally in our bodies. When released into the bloodstream, it dilates our blood vessels which leads to lower blood pressure. What is the best way to release nitric oxide from our muscles? It is to engage in so-called HIIT or High Intensity Interval Training. As blood pressure increases temporarily during HIIT exercises, you need to consult with your doctor on the maximum intensity and duration of exercise which will work best for you. As you complete the exercise, nitric oxide is dumped into the bloodstream and most people observe a lower blood pressure than they had prior to exercise. The 3rd exercise is resistance training. At one time doctors believed that lifting weights which is a form of resistance training was bad for your blood pressure because it accelerates heart rate and temporarily raises blood pressure. Modern research has proven that to be wrong. In one study researchers measured an impact from 12 weeks of weight training on a middle-aged man's blood pressure. They found that lifting weights resulted in reduction of systolic blood pressure by an average of 16 units which is a lot. REFERENCES. 1. Walking more linked with lower blood pressure.
