Bassai dai performed by Mr. Sadaharu Honda. Mr. Honda graduated from Waseda University and was captain of the University Karate Club. In the Waseda University Karate Club, they practiced Bassai dai, which was evolved from Bassai sho. This version of the kata was introduced by Master Funakoshi to Waseda University and evolved by his son Gigo Funakoshi once the leader of the Waseda Karate Club. As a godan black belt of Waseda University Karate Club, it is expected that Mr. Honda has Mastered the Kata and provided his version for demonstration purposes.
