In this tutorial I'll show how to draw realistic fur in pastels. This focuses on how to draw brown fur for breeds such as Cocker Spaniels or chocolate Labradors but the layering process and pencil technique would be the same for any dog drawing. Drawing fur in pastels relies on the right order and number of layers. If this isn't captured then the fur looks flat and lacks depth. In this video, I'll share my top tips for drawing fur and how to take the portrait to that next level of realism.
