It is no surprise that when it comes to indoor cycling bikes, Peloton is often at the top of the conversation. Of course, I do offer bias, being a Peloton customer since January of 2020. Stryde Bike’s cost is 80% that of Peloton’s, so if you’re looking for a bit of a “discount” on a similar type offering, this bike may be for you.

BIKE DETAILS

Appearance-wise, the Stryde bike has quite a few similarities to Peloton:

1. It’s footprint is 4 x 2, the same as Peloton’s
2. It weights 135 pounds with a breakdown of 125 for the frame and 10 for the console (also same as Peloton)
3. It has a welded powder coated steel frame
4. It has a magnetic micro resistance system with 100 resistance levels
5. The pedals are SPD compatible and also include toe cages - meaning you can use regular shoes if you don’t want to purchase spin shoes with cleats. In contrast, Peloton’s pedals are Look Delta compatible. (What are the difference between SPD and Look Delta cleats? SPD cleats are designed to be small, simple, and will clip into the pedals of nearly all indoor cycling bikes. In contrast, the Look Delta cleats feature a 3-hole arrangement that is adjustable.)
6. Its included tablet has a screen size of 21.5” with a Full HD 1080p resolution.

This bike comes with free shipping (standard across nearly all brands) with easy assembly taking approximately 40 minutes to set up (they recommend this being a 2 person job). Ship time on their bikes is approximately 3 weeks after you order. It has a 1 year warranty with limited labor and parts. There is a 30 day return policy.

On the graphic, they are emphasizing that while the bike parts are a similar cost at $850 for Stryde and their competitors, their expenses and profits are lower; thus passing the cost-savings onto the consumer.

According to their site, Stryde started with a simple idea: the best home fitness experience is a personal one, where you are empowered to choose the workout that’s right for you. They’ve partnered with the most popular instructors and boutique studios to deliver the broadest selection of classes streamed directly to your home.

Currently, Stryde has 5 studios located in the following cities:

High Ride Cycle in Denver, CO
Vibe Ride in Atlanta, GA and Detroit, MI
Ride House in Dallas, TX
Red Bike Studio in Miami, FL
City Cycle in Seattle, WA

MEMBERSHIP

Their membership is $29.99 per month, $10 less than Peloton’s membership of $39.99 per month. There are hundreds of on-demand classes with new ones added daily. As with Peloton, there is also a leaderboard system to see how you rank in terms of performance during your ride.

BIGGEST DIFFERENCES WITH PELOTON

Aside from the nearly $350 price difference of the bike itself AND the $10 less than Peloton’s monthly membership fee, the biggest difference between the Stryde Bike and the Peloton is how they source their classes. Peloton’s classes are all streamed from their company studios (or, due to recent times, in instructor’s homes). Stryde on the other hand, partners with five of the country’s most loved cycling studios to bring those classes available to you through their membership.
