One of the questions I get asked alot is “How do I start Investing?” When you are first looking at starting investing it can be overwhelming.

Where do I start? Do I buy stocks, bonds, Cryptocurrency, Dividend Stocks?

These are all important things to think about when you are building your investment goals and your Financial Plan.

But in today's video we are going to go over what you need to consider when you are starting to invest.

Alright, let's jump into the video and get you started on your journey to becoming an investor

1) Why should you invest?

So the first thing you really need to understand is: Why you need to be investing, and why it's so important for your future.

I think many people have this stigma that investing is a Risky thing or is only for people with a financial background. This negative way of thinking is one of the reasons why so many people avoid the stock market, and never start investing and just put their money into a savings account or a mutual fund, because they think it's safer.

The truth is that just putting your money into a savings account and doing nothing with it , is one of the worst things you can do. The reason for this is Inflation!

2)Know what type of investor you are?

In order to answer this question, You need to look inside yourself to decide what type of investor you think you are. Are you a person who loves numbers and research and analytical thinking? If so you might be a more active investor willing to take on higher risk and this will determine what type of investments are right for you.

Or does the thought of investing and numbers and research bore you. If so you might do better looking at a more hands off investing approach.

Some questions you should ask yourself include:

- Am I willing to spend more time on doing research?
- Am I easily scared by fluctuations in the market, which might cause you to make bad decisions out of fear?
- What is my Time horizon, so how long am I planning to invest this money for? Am I saving for a house with this money or is this money for retirement that I don’t need for 40 years...
- How much time am I willing to dedicate to look after my investments?
- And lastly, how much risk am I willing to take with my investments?

3) What will you invest your money in?

Now you can see why it's so important that you get your money working for you in order to keep up with inflation and not fall behind in life. The next thing you need to figure out is what you will invest your money in.

-Individual Stocks
-Bonds
-Index Funds
-Options Trading
- Cryptocurrency

4) Creating your Asset Portfolio

Now that you know a little bit about the different types of investments that you can choose from. The next important step in investing is deciding on what your investment portfolio is going to look like. What this means is you need to figure out what percentage of your money is going to go to the different types of investment that you will own. Are you going to have 100% of your money in stocks? Will you have 50% in stocks and 50% in Bonds, will you have 60% in Stocks, 30% in Bonds and 10% in Crypto?

5) Buying Investments-

So we know now why it's so important that we invest our money. We know a little bit about some of the different types of investments we can use to build our portfolio, and we have determined how much money we will be setting aside to invest each month.

Next we need to know how we actually Buy an Investment. This is a bit more of an in depth thing to go over, so in my future videos where I go over each investment type more in depth, I will also show you how to buy these products and what that actually looks like .
