Webinar: Sustainable Development Goals and Public Procurement

Sustainable consumption and production, and sustainable public procurement specifically, are part of the United Nations adopted the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which calls upon governments to implement the 10-Year Framework of Programmes on Sustainable Consumption and Production Patterns. This webinar will explore in more depth how public procurers can contribute to the 2030 agenda, and how they can use sustainability standards and ecolabels to do so.

The webinar discusses:

· How the 10YFP programme, and specifically the Sustainable Public Procurement Programme and the Consumer Information Programme are linked to the SDG framework
· How sustainability standard- and certification systems and ecolabels can help procurers and businesses in contributing to the SDG agenda
· Concrete examples of how public procurement can be used as a tool to contribute to the SDG agenda, and practical issues challenges and issues related to this.

This webinar took place on the 13th of December, 2016 in the framework of working group 4b of the 10YFP Sustainable Public Procurement Programme.
