In Japanese archery or Kyudo, one is naturally preoccupied with hitting the target, yet is this the most important aspect? As a competitive sport it would be. But if you discuss this with a Kyudo master they will tell you this is not the ultimate goal. Only by shooting in “Seishahitchū” - the right way, and with correct technique “Shaho-Hassetsu” can progress be made, but there is no end. Kyudo master Takeuchi sensei says you must “Shoot from the heart.”
