LGBT Youth Homelessness and Survival Sex | Tiffany Graham | TEDxUSD

video thumbnail
LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender) youths often face daily social stigma, discrimination, and often rejection by their families, in many cases this can lead to them being kicked out on their homes and forced to live on the streets. Some turn to survival sex just to be able to get by, but they still face charges of prostitution. Tiffany Graham, dean of the University of South Dakota law school, calls for a change in policy toward youth homelessness and survival sex.

Tiffany C. Graham joined the University of South Dakota of Law in 2014 as the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs. A graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law and Harvard and Radcliffe Colleges, she was previously the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs and a Professor of Law at the University of La Verne College of Law, and an Assistant Professor of Law at Villanova University School of Law. Dean Graham has taught in the areas of Constitutional Law, Race and the Law, Criminal Procedure, Law and Sexuality, and Torts. Prior to entering the academy, she clerked for the Honorable Richard W. Roberts of the United States District Court for the District of Columbia, and spent several years working as a commercial litigator for a major Los Angeles law firm. Dean Graham's scholarly works have focused on marriage equality and its relationship to developments in equal protection and fundamental rights jurisprudence, and her work has appeared in various publications.
