Lag Sign – Rotator Cuff Special Test |
|
The lag sign is one of the more modern special tests for rotator cuff tests. If the person is unable to contract the rotator cuff, they will not be able to hold the position and the arm will drop a little.
The test isn’t very sensitive, however has higher specificity, especially if a rotator cuff tear is larger. In my experience, I find this to be positive in those with larger cuff tears, especially if they extend from the supraspinatus into the infraspinatus as well. 👊🏻Was this helpful?
