In this portion of a class session from my Fall 2013 Introduction to Philosophy class -- themed on Love, Friendship, and Desire this semester -- I ask students about some of the "big questions" that have puzzled them, and then lead them through a brief discussion of some of the main areas or sub-disciplines within Philosophy, including Metaphysics, Epistemology, Ethics, Logic, Social-Political Philosophy, Aesthetics, Philosophy of Human Nature, Philosophy of Religion, and other "Philosophy of. . . . " areas. We also explore to some extent what makes the sorts of questions motivating Philosophy into these "big questions"
