Essential Rowing Skill for Erg Tests and Racing

Knowing how to relax and row at race pace (both cadence and pressure) when you are fresh and rested is essential for optimizing your racing performance on the indoor rower or in the boat. Most athletes will overshoot this pace if asked to row it for only 10-20 strokes. Learning to settle into this rhythm at the beginning of your race effort is essential for optimal performance and avoiding a "fly and die" outcome.
