A new vision for how architecture can bridge nature & urban landscapes | Flora Lee | TEDxGrandPark

"I believe that buildings don’t have to be soulless, functional machines for living. They can be more than that. They can become a space that promotes human wellbeing physically as well as emotionally and spiritually. I’m committed to connecting humanity and nature through a form of architecture."

In her talk, Flora Lee shares how a new generation of architects is bridging the divide between nature and built environments and reveals stunning visual designs that are changing the way we live and interact in dense cityscapes.

Her firm's radical approach has shown a new vision for their clients where they can achieve the goals for development while blending into nature rather than competing with it.

Flora Lee, Associate Partner at MAD Architects, has over 12 years of design and project management experience and has overseen several of the firm’s award-winning complex and large-scale projects.

A Korean-American architect and Georgia Tech alumna, Flora has been part of realizing MAD’s projects around the world.

Flora’s ambition is to design innovative architecture while enhancing people’s lives and experience with the built environment. She is a strong advocate for MAD’s design visions and works alongside MAD’s architects and designers to develop futuristic, organic, technologically-advanced designs that embody a humanistic connection with nature.

As Associate Partner, Flora is an integral part of the executive project management team and oversees all projects at MAD’s Los Angeles office, which include Gardenhouse, an 18-unit luxury condominium in Beverly Hills; Lucas Museum of Narrative Art, a new world-class museum in Los Angeles; and 8774 Santa Monica Boulevard, a mixed-use residential development in West Hollywood.
