Jaishankar has gone on a visit to Cyprus, an island country in the Mediterranean Sea close to Turkey. There is enmity between Turkey and Cyprus. In 1974 Turkey invaded Cyprus in violation of all law and occupied a large part of it. One part is Northern Cyprus and the other is Southern Cyprus which is the real Cyprus. Turkey wants the world to recognize Northern Cyprus as a country. Whenever Turkey takes the side of Pakistan and raises the issue of Kashmir, India reminds of Cyprus.
