Brad Panovich Hurricane Idalia VLOG for Tuesday, 8/29/23: Idalia is getting stronger and could soon start rapid intensification. In this video, chief meteorologist Brad Panovich has the latest forecast track on Hurricane Idalia, which is expected to become a major hurricane before making landfall along Florida's Gulf coast.
Plus, Brad Panovich says it looks like the remnants or whatever is left of the storm could stall off the East Coast of the U.S. briefly. In this video, meteorologist Brad Panovich breaks down the latest timing for Hurricane Idalia, as well as the impacts expected from the coast of Florida to the Carolinas. Hurricane Idalia was officially upgraded to a Category 1 hurricane at 5 a.m. Tuesday. As it begins to move into the Gulf of Mexico, where water temperatures are close to 90 degrees, the storm will continue to gain strength. Forecasters believe Idalia could become a Category 3 or Category 4 hurricane in the next 24 hours before it makes landfall in Florida. Conditions are favorable in the Gulf with low wind shear and warm ocean temperatures, which will support rapid intensification. Gov. Roy Cooper declared a state of emergency Tuesday to activate the state’s emergency operations plan, waive transportation rules to help the transport of fuel and critical supplies and services, help first responders and assist the agriculture industry to prepare in advance for inclement weather and protect consumers from price gouging. #Idalia #Hurricane READ MORE: https://www.wcnc.com/article/weather/tropical-systems-increasing-moisture-rain-carolinas/275-83bf3e09-e95a-497a-86d2-63ae96d4acce #flwx #gawx #scwx #ncwx #obx #cltwx #wxbrad #wcnc #hurricane #flood #weather #charlotte #northcarolina #southcarolina Weather IQ is powered by the meteorologists and forecasters at WCNC Charlotte in North Carolina.
