|
Brad Panovich weather VLOG for Monday, Aug. 28: The Charlotte metro area can expect heavy rain this week from a stalled front then possibly more from Hurricane Idalia as the storm moves north from Florida.
In this hurricane forecast update, chief meteorologist has the latest on Tropical Storm Idalia as well as a stormy week for North Carolina and South Carolina. Idalia is expected to become a hurricane by Monday afternoon as it moves north toward Florida. Idalia could become the first major hurricane of the 2023 Atlantic hurricane season with life-threatening impacts to Florida's Gulf coast. Brad Panovich breaks down the latest forecast path for Idalia and says the entire west coast of Florida is at risk of heavy rain, damaging winds and devastating storm surge. But before Idalia moves north, the Charlotte region will see heavy rain for two days due to a stalled front. Panovich says all of North Carolina and South Carolina could see significant rainfall totals Monday and Tuesday before the remnants of Idalia enter the picture. Here's a long, detailed vlog on the setup. #cltwx #ncwx #scwx #wcnc #wxbrad #obx #gawx #flwx #weather #charlotte #northcarolina #southcarolina Weather IQ is powered by the meteorologists and forecasters at WCNC Charlotte in North Carolina.
