THE RAIN Season 4 is Cancelled as First Ever Danish Netflix Original Series Ends After Three Seasons |
|
Hey, guys! So, all six episodes of the third season of The Rain were released on Netflix on August 6. The sad news is that the finale episode was also the series finale, as Netflix decided not to make The Rain Season 4. The syfy series failed to attract a big enough audience to justify the production costs. While The Rain has plenty of fans around the world, the post-apocalyptic thriller drew criticism for the weak plot, slow dialogue, stupid decisions by the characters and mediocre acting from the actors who are usually MUCH better. The Rain has a low rating of 6.4 out of 10 on IMDb and an even worse rating of 55% on Rotten Tomatoes. The ending didn’t surprise us, and just like other plot “twists” in all three seasons, was very predictable. The Rain was the first Netflix Original series from Denmark, and we hope the next one will be better, as Danish TV shows and films are known for generating many international remakes for their top-quality content. If you became a fan of 20-year old Lucas Lynggaard Tonnesen, who played Rasmus, you can catch him in 2021 short thriller film Sail On, My Love; while 27-year old Alba August, who played Simone, just finished filming Swedish movie Orca and Danish movie Copenhagen Goodbyes. So, guys, what did you think of the final season? Are you sad The Rain is cancelled? Share your thoughts in the comments!
