A complete system innovation on the basis of waste materials | Georg Wagner | TEDxGraz |
|
This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. The world’s population is continually growing – and thus its need for food. Malnutrition is rampant, especially in areas with the fastest growth. The 1.5 billion small farmers across the globe can counteract this development by utilizing their own waste materials. Food production generates waste which can be recycled by returning this waste to the ecosystem and thus reusing it for production. Georg Wagner shows which specific infrastructure is required and the positive effects that can arise, using the example of system innovation in a pilot region in Brazil.

About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations) |
