The benefits of being talkative | Katy Beranek | TEDxLFHS

video thumbnail
High school student Katy Beranek is very talkative – just ask her friends – and this natural inclination to chit-chat led to her involvement in a teen water conservation group. In her TEDxLFHS talk, Katy challenges viewers to be as talkative as humanly possible and to sit down with that one person you might not have talked to before – it may lead to something great! Royalty Free Intro Music: “Stay (Sting)” by Otis McDonald.
Katy Beranek is a current Junior at Lake Forest High School who enjoys meeting new people and making connections all over the world. Over quarantine, Katy started an environmental group, Water Solutionaries (a teen environmental group that focuses on water problems across our globe), where she learned how to communicate with people in Africa, New York, and even Canada. She has gotten a chance to experience their individual cultures and is eager to share them with all of you. When she isn’t on zoom calls you can find her hiking to see sunrises all over the midwest. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
