ബാല്യകാല സൗഹൃദത്തോടൊപ്പം അറിയാതെ കളിക്കൂട്ടുകാരിയോടു തോന്നിയ അനുരാഗം ജീവിതയാത്രയിലെവിടെയോ വെച്ച് മുറിഞ്ഞുപോയ ഒരനുഭവം കവി വീണ്ടും ഓർത്തെടുക്കുകയാണ്.
ഒരിക്കൽ പെയ്താൽ, ജീവിതം മുഴുവൻ ചോർന്നൊലിക്കുന്ന ആ സ്നേഹത്തിന്റെ മഴക്കാലത്തെ കവി വീണ്ടും അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നു.
പൂമ്പാറ്റയെപ്പോലെ പാറിപ്പറന്നു നടന്നിരുന്ന കളിക്കൂട്ടുകാരിയുടെ രൂപം തന്റെ കരൾ പൊയ്കയിൽ ഉയർന്നു വരുന്നത് നുരഞ്ഞു പൊന്തുന്ന ഓർമ്മപ്പ തക്കിടയിലും കവി കാണുന്നു.
വളപ്പൊട്ടുകളും മഷിത്തണ്ടും മയിൽപ്പീലിയും സൂക്ഷിച്ചു വെച്ച, പ്ലാവിലത്തൊപ്പിയണിഞ്ഞ് രാജാവും രാജ്ഞിയുമായി മണ്ണപ്പം ചുടുകയും മാന്തളിരു കൊണ്ട് കറി വെച്ചു കളിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തൊരു ബാല്യ വസന്തത്തിലേക്ക് കവി യാത്ര ചെയ്യുന്നു.
വഴിപിരിഞ്ഞ്, സ്വപ്ന ലോകങ്ങൾക്കപ്പുറം ജീവിതത്തിന്റെ പരുക്കൻ യാഥാർത്ഥ്യങ്ങളോട് ഏറ്റുമുട്ടേണ്ടി വന്നപ്പോൾ, ഭൗതിക ജീവിതത്തിന്റെ നിസ്സാരതയെക്കുറിച്ച് ബോധവാനാകുകയും സന്ധ്യയും പ്രഭാതവും ആരേയും കാത്തു നിൽക്കില്ലെന്ന പ്രപഞ്ച സത്യം ഉൾക്കൊള്ളുകയും ചെയ്യുമ്പോഴും
എവിടെയെങ്കിലും തന്റെ കളിക്കൂട്ടുകാരി ജീവിച്ചിരിപ്പുണ്ടാവുമെന്നുള്ള വിശ്വാസത്തിൽ,
പ്രേമം മാത്രമാണ് സത്യമെന്നും മരണം വരെ അതു തുടരേണ്ടതാണെന്നും സ്വയം വിശ്വസിപ്പിക്കാൻ കവി ശ്രമിക്കുന്നു.
മധുരിതമായ അനുരാഗത്തെപ്പറ്റി വീണ്ടും പാടുന്നു
