To say the 2024 Honda ZR-V is an important new model would be an understatement.

It plays against some of the best and most competitive SUVs on the market — including the Toyota RAV4, Mazda CX-5, Hyundai Tucson, Nissan X-Trail, Mitsubishi Outlander, Kia Sportage, GWM Haval H6 and plenty more.

Like a few of those models, it’s available with a hybrid version too — but I don’t think the petrol-electric e:HEV is the best version of this car.

I reckon the turbo petrol VTi versions are better value and are better to drive, and there are three different variants whereas only one hybrid is offered — and it’s expensive.
