"Introduction to EPSRC & Funding Opportunities" – Joanne Humphries @ Languages in Science |
|
Presentation given by Joanne Humphries at the Languages in Science conference on the topic of "Introduction to EPSRC & Funding Opportunities".
The Languages in Science conference was a hybrid event which took place at Lancaster University and online via Microsoft Teams on 30th November 2021. The event aimed to show how science and language learning complement each other; despite the highly international nature of the scientific world, the role of languages is rarely discussed. It was organized by Dr. Timothy Douglas (Engineering and Materials Science Institute (MSI)) and Dr. Emily Spiers (Department of Languages and Cultures), with financial support from the Institute for Social Futures (ISF). Several LU academics spoke at the event, including Dr Susannah Coote and Dr. Luis Pinho (Chemistry), Dr. Francesca Citron, Dr. Lara Warmelink and Dr. Tamara Rakic (all Psychology), as well as several LU students and postgraduate researchers. |
