The machine itself is of sturdy build, weighing in at 189 pounds. The flywheel is real heavy to support fluid movements. This alleviated jarring at the knees, ankles and hips. It has a stride length of 20".

If you are sub 300 pounds this machine will easily support you for years to come. But how smooth of a ride does it offer? Well the flywheel is 19 pounds in weight. The heavier this part can be generally equates to more smoothness of movement. The Sole E25 does not have the heaviest flywheel in the world, if it had of been closer to 30 pounds the movement would have been more fluid. But then the price would have been several hundred pounds "heavier".

What about resistance levels? -- Well the E25 has an Eddy Current Breaking System. This applies the resistance force to the flywheel using would you believe it magnets. Magnets reduce the drag and friction which therefore equates to smoother pedal movements.

There is nothing worse on an elliptical than a jerky machine that sticks and drags, forcing you to drive the foot pedals down to keep the machine in traction.

This magnetic breaking system is amazing. It is probably the best in any Elliptical in the world in this price range.

So who would benefit from working out on this elliptical? Anyone who is into casual/serious fitness who wants a basic model of machine, it won't excel in areas of smoothness and program capacity, but everything it does, it does well.
