The Health Ministry will issue a statement on Adverse Events Following Immunisation stemming from the AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine soon, said its minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad.

He told reporters this after attending the Clinical Research Malaysia Trial Connect 2024 launch today, asking everyone to be patient until the statement is made in the near future.

He was reported as saying that Malaysia had sought clarification from AstraZeneca on the matter following reports of cases of Thrombosis with TTS associated with the vaccine in Indonesia.

Meanwhile, AstraZeneca has also said on Tuesday that it had initiated the worldwide withdrawal of its Covid-19 vaccine due to a "surplus of available updated vaccines" since the pandemic.
