Yet its harshest critics, on the other hand, have alleged the game was left unfinished, and ultimately unfulfilling. A common complaint has been that TPP lacked cutscenes with the typical MGS substance, and that it's story feels elliptical. Even die-hard fans have convinced themselves of a coming secret 'Chapter Three', where every dot will be connected, and every stray plot-line conclusively tied up. But is it possible that underneath it all, MGSV is not only a completely finished game, but one with more detailed, rich, and nuanced cut-scenes than any entry before it? In this new series from Futurasound Productions, creator of the hit trilogy 'WTF Happens in MGSV', we return again to the polarizing and mysteriously hypnotic swan song that is MGSV:TPP - this time to take a deeper dive than ever, specifically into the cutscenes. In this episode, we turn to Skull Face's first scene in TPP! Along the way, we also discuss how the game conveys the Orwellian concept that 'history has stopped'. This was one of my favorites to make so far - can't wait to see where this takes us next! 0:00 - Intro 1:07 - Part One 13:28 - Part Two 33:23 - Part Three "‘Oceania has always been at war with Eastasia. Since the beginning of your life, since the beginning of the Party, since the beginning of history, the war has continued with- out a break, always the same war. Do you remember that?’" - O'Brien, NINETEEN EIGHTY-FOUR by George Orwell "Jack, do you remember what day it is tomorrow?" - Unknown |
