Is the UK generous to asylum seekers? | Deborah Gellner | TEDxSWPS

video thumbnail
In this tightly argued, information-packed talk, Deborah debunks some myths and misconceptions about the UK's attitude to immigration. Thought-provoking, and ultimately a call to action, this talk couldn't be any more relevant.

Deborah Gellner is a solicitor with over 25 years’ experience acting for the
dispossessed and marginalised. This has included the homeless, the
mentally ill and impoverished migrants of various types. She currently
works for a small legal charity, the Asylum Support Appeals Project, which
provides representation at Tribunal appeal hearings for destitute asylum
seekers who are refused support. She has also completed a Masters in
Migration Studies and taught law at Sussex University, and writes regularly on migrant support law for Legal Action magazine.
