An explosion occurred at 12:55 p.m. inside the well-known Rameshwaram café, just as the lunch throng was beginning to arrive. CCTV footage captured the minutes after the explosion, as workers and customers attempted to escape the area amid clouds of smoke and fear. A few patrons stood a short distance from the restaurant, their faces splattered with blood and their clothes torn, as they struggled to comprehend what they had just seen. Fire engines arrived, ambulances wailed, and first assistance was provided.
