Shin pain after a total knee replacement is frustrating. Often it may be due to one of three factors. 1.) Lateral compartment (shin splints) syndrome. 2.) Medial bone pain associated with new loading forces, 3.) pain at the top of the tibia where the implant is placed.

Massage may be one of the most effective ways to reduce to intensity of shin pain. In this video I share a simple way to massage the shin using the thumb.
